banks

I don't like how the bank closes a few minutes early every day, so that I just miss going in after I get off my last class on Tuesdays after I've wasted Mondays doing unimportant things. That is so irresponsible of them!

Analyze This...

All Quiet on the Western Front is a story about war. The seemingly unending insufferable conditions war. The psychological degeneration a solider goes though in war, leaving him wondering how he can function in the world after enduring such terrible experiences. That book and the subsequent analytical ass-paper I have to write about it have taught me what war feels like first hand. I have often felt as though I'm under siege when I force myself to slog though such a poorly written and drawn out work of fiction.

It's like Lord of the Rings but without Hobbits, Ents, or even a dissociative schizophrenic crack head.

probably not true.

Every week I tell myself that I'm going to go to Church, but then I can't make myself get out of bed and get ready in time. I think it's God's way of telling me that I should sleep in.

Why Do I Have to Read THIS?!

I have to write an analytical paper about the war story book All Quiet on the Western Front. While typically war stories are easy to analyze because they combine extreme situations, the nature of human society, and usually the typical loss of innocence angle, this particular story is convoluted. The character's all have similar names and the narrator keeps shifting events out of chronological order. I told myself that war veterans write this way because it's how they remember their dramatic history; that turned out to be a load of baloney! All Quiet on the Western Front turned out to be Fiction... inspired by life experiences, not that 'this story didn't really happen, but characters and plot points are sort of inspired by things that happened to this one guy' is written anywhere on the book. Lies! Inexcusable, poorly written lies! Why is this book the focus of our analysis? The Things They Carried was actual Non-Fiction and was written in a way that actually draws in and engages the reader... as opposed to making the reader all too aware that they're painfully reading a depressing book of made up stories pretending to be real.

Battins! Battins!

There's nothing better than a torrential downpour on a day when you don't have to leave the house. It's fun to pretend that you apartment complex is a boat and your stuck in the perfect storm (it's even more fun if you pretend that George Clooney died more early on). Keep in mind though, while it is permissible to make pretend, don't run around in the rain like a lunatic, that can lead to you getting hit by a car or arrested.

Grey Day

Rainy days for me are either uplifting or a little sullen, depending on the amount of greenery I see. When it rains all the grass and trees turn brilliant green, and it makes me feel better. Without them, everything looks grey and depressing.

Ferr Rents

If ferrets are renowned for one thing, it would be combining the other two things they're renowned for: being blind with being impulsive and getting themselves into trouble. Trolly and Norman have identified and got themselves into almost every single conceivable crevice and opening they should be in the walls and furniture of my apartment. Tiring out a pair of ferrets is truly a cat's work.

Back to School

Spring Break ended for me this morning when I woke up, dark and early for Calculus. It was a pretty relaxing week, although surprisingly predictable in my unproductively. I am a little relieved to be back at school and working towards that end of the semester, but at the same time I don't want to go back to school and be embroiled in this current semester. Go figure.

Spring Breaking

The weather today was perfect for Spring Break. There's a light breeze, the sun is out, the air is cool and dry, and the eye candy is out and about with minimal clothing. It's a good day to go lay around outside can catch up on internet stuff.

Cap it a toll

Me and Benny made a day trip out to Austin. It's my goal to force the best bubble tea known to man on to as many people as humanly possible. While he conceeded that it was acceptable bubble tea, Benny was unhappy with the cup lid and straw hole; poking a huge straw through the plastic sealed top of the machine generated bubble was apparently his favorite part of bubble tea.

For his half of the outing we went to the capitol building and wondered around. I'd never been inside the actual building before, it was part museum and part fun house. Everything on every floor tile, wall hanging, sketched window, doorway, seat cushion, and (litterally) door hinge was made to be unique and symbolic. I left with a sense of state pride and bewildered 'was-all-that-really-necessary' confusion. Also I learned that there are probably upwards of 5,000 lones stars decorating the building interior, exterior and surrounding grounds. Who ever decorated that place must have thought the lone star was like glitter on a two year old's home made get well soon card, there could NOT BE ENOUGH.

Ferrenthood

Finally the day has come! I woke up to the incessant pawing, squeaking, and rumangings of a pair of 6am ferrets! The little girl, Trolly, is definitely the mischief maker of the two. She'd found every snag in my ferret proofed roomed within the hour. Her larger and whiter counterpart, Norman, is much more laid back and is happy to wonder aimlessly until he sees Trolly's found trouble.

100th Post!

Tests are finally over! Spring Break is here! I've done so much writing and Calculus paperwork, my pinky finger on my right hand feels like it's going to fall off. I took a mental break during my World Lit class and thought to myself how much easier it would be to write for long periods of time if I just had 3 fingers and a thumb on righty.
