resolutesion

I made it a New Years Resolution to update this blog once a day with at least some quick quirks. But I haven't been on that so much. What do I do to fix the problem? Cheat!! I've really only updated it once every couple of days. That makes me have to think back though, and I don't remember what I did on the 10th. I think I just played Spore all day. Hmmm. Here's to New Years Resolutions! Make them work as best you can!

Snore

Apparently it still snows in Animal Crossing January. I hope my kids don't complain as much as these Snowmen! Sheesh!

Spores

Spore could be one of the most addicting games I've played in a long time. Make crazy creatures? Guide them through life times? Share the universe with creatures your friends create? I wonder when sim games become recognized as a psychological condition.

mental dental

My lower permanent retainer snapped off the back of my teeth today, wire and all! I've been trying to pick the remaining glue off the back with some success, but most disturbing of all it looks like I developed some cavities underneath! What the heck?! I thought this thing was supposed to make my teeth better! I've never gotten a cavity in my life, even when I had a full grill of braces all over my mouth and with 3 extra wisdom teeth sitting in the back! Damn thing was a retainer alright... of LIES!!

Bluifrog

I decided to cheat again and code a shiny Politoad with Water Absorb. There's really not much of a point; it's not much of a contender in the 'Bulky Water' category. The only thing it fits with is a Water Absorb-Surf 2vs2 team. I outfitted it with Hyper Voice and Bounce for the novelty of having a frog Pokemon. After I level it up it'll know Perish Song, which is another option.

Pokeball... GO!

A friend sent this to me a while back, I thought it was the greatest thing ever.

D Si

Nintendo will be releasing their new super special awesome DS model very soon. Although Nintendo has yet to put anything about it on their official website (which is chronically about 2 months behind the rest of the world) it's already been released in Japan and other sources say it's due to hit the US in the first quarter of 09. About the same size as the DS Lite, it has done away with the Game-Boy Advance slot (and thus cannot play GBA games or DS games that used the DS slot). What it gains however are two low resolution cameras, an SD card slot, capabilities to play music and minor picture modification, and will be released with a new Wii-like interface. It will update it's internal software by connecting to the internet, much like the Wii, and an internet 'DSi software' store will be put up where 'channels' of software can be purchased with points and downloaded to the DSi, among which include a limited Opera Internet browser. In addition to the major changes some small things, like the power button and volume control have been moved around and changed.

I definitely like the sound of the new software interface, the only thing that makes me think twice about lining up to buy is removal of the Game-Boy Advance slot as some DS games did use it as a plug in for peripherals and I occasionally play GBA games. The camera seems hooky and unless the SD card is implemented in someway beyond making it a pseudo-crappy-iPod I can't see the point of the hardware changes.
